Converting to Video

In this guide we'll go over how to convert whatever file type into video (mp4 in this case) while also lowering its video quality. This is important for any sound mods as you need a video format to be converted to .bik for it to sound good, but also need the resolution to be low so that your frame rate isn't severely hurt by the custom sounds.
There are many programs you can do this with. In this example we'll be using Shotcut, a free and easy to use video editing software.
After opening the program, drag whatever you want to convert into the Playlist area on the left side. If there is no Playlist area, press the Playlist button in the top taskbar.
Once it's put into the playlist, drag it down into the Timeline area.
If for whatever reason your video is not just a black screen, press the Hide button on the left side of the Timeline.
Near the top left, click Settings. Then, hover over Video Mode. Then, near the bottom of the list hover over Custom, then click Add...
Name the video mode whatever you like. Change the Aspect Ratio to 1:1 and change the Resolution to 144x144. Change the frame rate to 23.976.... (or whatever, the frame rate doesn't really matter)
Click OK and your custom settings should be automatically applied. Assuming you don't have any more changes you want to make, click Export.
Since you've already set up your custom settings, you can just click Export File straight away.
Save the video wherever you want, and you have now successfully converted to video. (or video of lower quality)
